Mental Health Kids & Adults
Who can benefit Mental Health Occupational Therapy?
Globally, it is estimated that 1 in 7 (14%) 10-19 year-olds experience mental health conditions.
Parents and caregivers looking after child with additional needs also need some mental heath support as it’s a full time job and sometimes one can feel very overwhelmed and not know what to do.
Often OT’s will focus massively on the child but not so much on the parents / caregivers.
It’s so important that the parents receive the support they need so they are able to ‘cope’ in situations that our darling children can throw us in!
As our reaction can make the situation escalate or lessen.
A parent or caregiver is covered by NDIS to get OT Mental Health Therapy.
'Some people don't like the 'therapy chair'
At Samford clinic you’re surrounded by nature. The therapy sessions can be conducted whilst walking or alternatively some teenagers prefer online as they can be more open with their feelings as they can “hide’ behind the screen.
Whatever works for you we can assist to make the therapy session beneficial to you.
My role is to assist you to achieve YOUR goals and get you to where you want to be!
